Reasons why Successful Gold, Silver and Rare Coin Investors
and Collectors Choose Barry Stuppler & Co.
40+
years of experience and relationships within the precious
metal and Numismatic Community
After
a 40+ year history in the numismatic and precious metal
industry, I’ve built some wonderful relationships. I
continue to add new and experienced collectors and investors
to the thousands who have achieved their goals. At the
same time I’ve made life-long friends with many of today’s
leaders in the numismatic and precious metal community.
In the
1960’s I made a major decision. As a conservative grader,
I decided to focus on premium quality coins only not
just price, when selecting rare coins for my clients.
Now, thousands of my past clients are reaping the rewards,
because values for premium quality rarities have increased
dramatically. I sell my premium quality coins to my
clients, while selling problem or borderline coins to
dealers at trade shows.
During
the same period of time, I’ve met and transacted with
many of this country’s leading Dealers, Auction Houses,
Grading Services and Government Mint executives. Now,
many of these key executives and owners are my friends,
and we serve together on industry boards. As President
of the American Numismatic Association, I often consult
with many of my industry friends to discuss consumer
protection improvements. Additionally, I find these
relationships important to help my clients when they
need assistance in locating difficult rare coins, buying
or selling at major auctions, or having numismatic rarities
graded and encapsulated.
Large inventory of Gold
& Silver Bullion and Investment Grade Rare Coin
After 40+ years specializing
in Gold and Silver Bullion and Investment Quality certified
rare coins, I have built up an impressive inventory.
Additionally, I have access to a network of dealers
who continually provide me with a great assortment of
gold and silver bullion coins and bars, as well as high
end rare coins. However, the real secret is my access
to collections and investment holdings from ten of thousands
of past clients who are upgrading, trading or just taking
profits.
Barry Stuppler &Company
will Create a personalized Precious Metal and Numismatic
Investment Strategy with confidentiality
Whether our client
is an investor or collector, we always recommend beginning
with a personalized strategy. For maximum return we
suggest that investors diversify with bullion coins
for the short term and selected investment quality gold
and silver rarities for the best long term results.
Both investment vehicles have provided excellent liquidity
for over 50 years. Additionally, we offer a personalized
strategy based on your time commitment, your budget
and willingness to learn about precious metal and numismatics.
Collectors need to select no more than 3 rare coins
series, then focus on completing a high quality collection.
Focusing on up to 3 numismatic collections eliminates
the problems of ending up with an accumulation of odds
and ends. Strategies will change over a period of time,
but starting with clear criteria and goal, allows you
to avoid serious and costly errors. We are proud to
say that our clients' privacy and confidentiality has
been guaranteed for over 40 years.
We are active Buyers
and Sellers on the Dealers Certified Coin Exchange and
at over 30 major coin conventions a year
The Gold
and Silver Bullion and Rare Coins markets are actively
traded worldwide. We are in constant contact with many
market makers and dealers, which allows us to add to
our inventory and to fill our clients' demands.
Hundreds of Precious Metal and Numismatic dealers attend
major trade conventions around the country. Dealers,
collectors and investors meet to buy, sell and trade
gold and silver bullion products and rare coins. During
a normal year, there are hundreds of small to medium
coin shows, coin conventions sponsored by local coin
clubs, and other gatherings. Most of these shows have
only a few small local dealers in attendance. However,
there are approximately 30 conventions a year that are
considered major, and Barry Stuppler attends these conventions
or sends a representative with our want lists. During
40+ years of being a professional numismatist Barry
has helped over 25,000 collectors and investors to build
collections and investment holdings of U.S. gold and
silver coins. Many of these clients still have an on-going
relationship with us as they enjoy the profits and rewards
long term investing and collecting of gold and silver
has provided. These purchases represent over 30% of
our yearly requirement for high grade numismatics.
There is a computerized network (CCE) that allows 300+
of the nations largest dealers to communicate with each
other by messaging or posting buy/sell orders for Gold
and Silver Bullion and certified rare coins. The CCE
now lists bid or ask prices for over 100,000 certified
U.S. coins, and it trades 100,000 or more coins using
an on-going messaging system. We find this network to
be an excellent vehicle for us to locate or sell precious
metal and numismatic items for inventory and our clients.
Exclusive access to the
CoinStats in-depth rare coin analysis
I believe CoinStats
is the best investment tool for rare coin investors.
CoinStats
is an in-depth statistic analysis of popular rare coin
series that allows investors to identify the best values
in certified rare coins. We are proud to offer this
unique and outstanding investment tool exclusively to
our clients.
Let me explain why CoinStats
is so helpful for rare coin investors. About 10 years
ago, based on speaking with a number of rare coin investors
who were active in the stock market, I realized that
there were many similarities between identifying undervalued
stocks and undervalued rare coins. I start out with
the “market capitalization” of each coin in the nine
most popular series of rare U.S. silver and gold coins,
in grades MS63 through MS67. The market capitalization,
or market cap, of a company’s stock equals the number
of shares outstanding multiplied by the price per share.
In rare coins, market cap = population (defined as the
number of coins graded by NGC + number of coins graded
by PCGS) times the price of the coin.
Comparing the market cap of coins is the first step
in identifying undervalued coins. CoinStats
goes on to compare the decrease in population of the
next grade up to the increase in price for that grade.
The largest percentage decrease in population of the
next grade up, combined with the highest percentage
increase in price for the next grade up identifies value
coins. As collectors and investors are priced out of
the market for the next grade up, their attention turns
to these value coins, and their prices take off. While
it’s not an infallible formula, CoinStats
has consistently helped investors outperform even the
overall market in investment quality coins for the past
10 years.

Free computerized appraisals,
articles and timely market updates
We are proud to continually update our clients with
current and timely articles on the state of the rare
coin and precious metal markets. However, the key to
successful investing is being aware of current market
values. While it's easy to obtain information about
the prices of the gold and silver bullion markets, rare
coins are another matter. Although websites like PCGS.com
and Numismedia.com provide rare coin market pricing
indicators, it's important to know what your coins are
worth. Many of our long terms collectors don't wish
to be updated quarterly with values. However, we offer
our clients, upon request, a computerized CoinFolio
value update.
6 years experience auctioning rare coins on eBay
as a Power Seller
Why is BSCI's 6+ years of experience auctioning rare coins on eBay important to you?
eBay is a unique marketplace for coins. Numismatic items that are very difficult to sell
in conventional numismatic markets like catalog auctions and convention bourse trading
floors sell quickly in eBay auctions. When my clients wish to liquidate these eBay-type
numismatic items at premium prices, I provide assistance for a small consignment fee.
Additionally, I have built an excellent relationship with eBay, working together to provide
consumer protection for new, uneducated rare coin collectors and investors bidding on
eBay auctions.
